"Home has been so many roads that I walk down in my sleeping, here with you I'm home at last but it's not home for my keeping" — Vashti Bunyan

In her project I Wonder, Dasha explores her personal journey of trying to create a sense of home, focusing on themes of disconnection and belonging. The altar reflects the ongoing search for home and human connection: a process similar to a spiritual journey and mirrors Dasha's own struggle to find her spiritual and physical place in the world. Keys, long symbols of love, trust, and power, often represent control over thresholds—both physical and metaphorical. By casting parts of these keys, Dasha strips them of their functionality, transforming them from practical objects into sacred relics.

Each key, though technically a replica, remains dysfunctional—mirroring the nature of attempting to understand someone or finding a place to belong. By casting these keys, Dasha expresses the frustration and beauty in trying to hold onto something that cannot fully be grasped. The work underscores the vulnerability of the search, portraying home and connection as spaces we strive to access but are unable to reach.
